Manual lymphatic drainage massage.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a special massage technique used to eliminate lymphatic congestion (water) in the tissues. The body's lymphatic system absorbs tissue fluid (lymph) and drains it into the blood vessels. During manual lymphatic drainage, I use gentle pumping, twisting and scooping strokes, as well as circular movements, to massage the subcutaneous tissue over the lymph nodes in the direction of lymphatic drainage. This stimulates the lymphatic system and facilitates the removal of excess tissue fluid. Lymphatic drainage not only helps with water retention in the tissues, but is also helpful with tension and blockages in the physical and mental areas. By means of lymphatic drainage the energies can flow again and take away a lot of "garbage" and help the body to cleanse and heal itself.
