Manual lymphatic drainage is a very gentle and relaxing therapy. It is important that the hand grips are rhythmic and slow, almost without pressure. It is suitable for everyone and is experienced as very pleasant even by children.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a component of complex physical decongestive therapy (CPD). This includes:

• Compression therapy
• skin care
• movement exercises
• Physical therapy, if necessary

The application possibilities are very diverse. However, there are limitations where contact and exchange of information with the responsible physician is sought.

Basically, it must be noted that manual lymphatic drainage should never cause pain. Compared to classical massage (which works on muscles and connective tissue), manual lymphatic drainage works on the lymphatic system. This is mostly located directly under the skin and runs parallel to the venous system.
