For me it is important to see a person as a whole like the tree that shows it to us in nature.

I imagine a tree. It has healthy roots a strong trunk and is beautiful in its foliage. The climate is always changing and the tree is constantly changing. It adapts to the seasons, sometimes it loses a branch in a storm, but it remains standing. If the tree can no longer regulate itself, be it through an injury to the roots, then the tree becomes sick.

To overcome these stressful circumstances the tree needs resources, which it can get. To save energy, it takes up nutrients with the remaining roots or drops leaves.

Just like the tree, the human organism is designed to remain in a viable dynamic equilibrium in the face of changing external influences.
