Reflexology can be defined as a reflex technique, based on the neurobiochemical action that occurs when a specific area of the foot or hand is stimulated, and which has general or partial repercussions in the organism (body).

Pressure on the reflex zone creates an electromagnetic wave which travels along the sensitive nerve pathway, then reaches the spinal cord and the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus processes the information received and induces physiological reactions in the body, re-establishing a balance adapted to the organ or zone concerned.
